USD/CAD near daily highs post mixed data
FXStreet (London) - USD/CAD is down -0.01% on the day at 1.1029, having previously posted a daily high at 1.1039 and a low at 1.1004, following mixed US and Canadian data.
USD/CAD climbs post mixed data
USD/CAD has been quite rangebound since the end of March, with the pair supported between 1.1012-1.1000 for the past few days. Overnight, spot declined lower to post a morning low at 1.1008, before climbing into the US open. The most was supported by the dual impact of mixed US Initial and Continuing Jobless claims, and soft US Trade Balance data, and better than expected Canadian Trade Numbers. Ahead we can look to the headline US data of the day, ISM Non-Manufacturing PMI at 14:00 GMT.
USD/CAD Technicals
Currently RSI is at 67.43, up from the last hourly print at 47.09, with ADX at 27.79, up from its previous close at 21.63. Looking to a daily chart, we see that RSI is neutral at 43.75. On the hourly USD/CAD chart, ATR (14) is presently at 9 pips, while 2-Standard Deviation Volatility Bandwidth is expanding and currently 26 pips. Viewing a daily USD/CAD chart, 2-Standard Deviation Volatility Bandwidth is expanding at 286 pips.

Current price is 1.1032, with resistance ahead at 1.1033 (Daily Open), 1.1038 (Hourly 100 SMA), 1.1039 (Daily High), 1.1049 (Yesterday's High) and 1.1052 (Daily Classic R1). To the downside we see next support at 1.1027 (Daily Classic PP), 1.1024 (Weekly Low), 1.1024 (Hourly 20 EMA), 1.1005 (Daily Classic S1) and 1.1004 (Daily Low).
